The client wanted a SaaS based customer advocacy platform that can help marketing and sales folks to capture testimonials in a frictionless manner.
Gopi and Sriram - the founders of Referral Yogi, the clients were looking to build a product on customer advocacy.
We started off with with stakeholder interviews to understand their goals, needs and business requirements.
Before that we did plenty of background research & competitor analysis to understand the domain and its features.

What I Learnt
This was my first real/client UX project and it was super exciting to apply my learnings as a designer . It helped me understand the challenges one has to overcome while applying the process in real projects - constraints can vary from deadlines and resources.
-
This was my first client project as UX Designer and it was interesting to understand the nuances of client interaction.
-
Working on a client project pushed me to stick to some really tight deadlines and deliver sooner and in a much effective way.
-
For example, we had to do a lot of homework to understand the domain and ask the users the right questions to understand the challenges/expectations.
-
However, I wish we had spent a little more time on the research to understand the sales and marketing perspective , there were some grey areas where we made assumptions and took advice from the clients to get the project moving.
